I had the pleasure of meeting Erin and Riley when I was teaching a Mommy & Me yoga class and Riley was just a few months old. Erin and Riley were my most consistent attendees and I loved watching Riley grow over the months. Erin trusted me to capture Riley's first birthday photos and now she's trusting me to document their growing family as they anticipate the arrival of their second baby girl this fall.

Erin and Kyle did their engagement photos at Yorktown Battlefield, so when we started planning their maternity photos, Erin had the thought to do their maternity session there to show how their family has grown over the years! Since Riley and Erin are both morning people, they opted for a sunrise session - my first official one! I have to admit that I was definitely not a fan of my 4:30am alarm, but in the end, it was SO worth it. The sunrise was absolutely phenomenal and we got some incredible photos to celebrate this exciting chapter of life for the Cahoon family!

We started their session off on the beach so we could capture all those glorious sunrise vibes. Riley had never experienced sand before, and since the beach was fairly deserted, it was easy for her to roam around and take it all in. She frequently stepped away from the photos to let the sand run through her fingertips and only once did we have to chase her down because she started sprinting off!

Riley totally brought the 70s vibes in her striped bell bottoms and flower power "Big Sister" shirt. Plus her little top pony was too darn cute!

Erin wanted to get a little pampering and look INCREDIBLE for her session (although I think she had a lot of competition with how adorable Riley is), and she was fortunate to find out the Noelle at Blush 757 was no stranger to early mornings. Erin and Noelle had to start her makeup before 5am in order to get her to the beach in time for the sunrise! I've had the pleasure of being a client of Noelle's and having several of my clients book her for their session makeup and I am always in awe of her artistry and skill!

After we wrapped up on the beach, we headed in to the battlefields to get some photos with a different feel. Riley's attention span was fading fast and I wasn't above using my camera's shoe mount to put my phone up and let her watch Miss Rachel while I snapped the last few pics!

Thank you, Erin, Kyle, and Riley, for trusting me with another precious moment in your life. I am truly honored to be part of this special time and I cannot wait to meet baby Cahoon this fall!
