Christmas Wedding at St. Olaf’s Catholic Church

Olivia and Andrew met at James Madison University thanks to the music ministry program. During the toasts at their wedding, one bridesmaid hinted that Andrew may have been inspired to join the choir not for his love of music, but rather, for the way he felt about Olivia. A rich history of faith, music, and red roses kept these two souls close as they endured a host of challenges in their lives. Those challenges were nothing compared to the strength of their bond and the depth of their love, which flowed through every detail of Olivia and Andrew's beautiful wedding at St. Olaf's Catholic Church in Williamsburg, Virginia.

Olivia + Andrew Said "I Do" during a Catholic Wedding Mass at St. Olaf’s in Williamsburg, Virginia

Olivia and Andrew love being in Williamsburg, Virginia. Throughout their courtship they enjoyed exploring all the history, food, and adventures the city has to offer. Andrew proposed in Colonial Williamsburg, and we did their engagement photos there as well, so it only made sense to get married in their favorite place! Olivia and Andrew were married on a beautiful Saturday afternoon in December at St. Olaf's Catholic Church. St. Olaf's has a gorgeous sanctuary with lots of natural light, which made for some incredible photos. Olivia and Andrew's ceremony was a traditional Catholic wedding, which means it included a full church service, called mass. Throughout the mass, Father Kevin referenced "the greatest love story" - the biblical Christmas story - and drew comparisons to Olivia and Andrew's story. He encouraged them to carry the story of Christ's love in their minds and hearts as they navigate the winding roads of marriage.

Olivia + Andrew Partied the Night Away at Their Reception at Kaplan Parish Hall

Olivia and Andrew's Christmas theme was beautifully intertwined into the details at their reception. From the ornaments that served as favors to the red and green florals to the table full of Christmas cookies, you could feel the spirit of the holiday in every corner of Kaplan Parish Hall! We did a staged exit with bubbles and then everyone went back inside to dance the night away. Olivia had one major request of me at the reception: photos of her dancing with all of the people she loves most. I think I took more dancing photos during this reception than I took at all of this year's weddings COMBINED! It was so evident that this couple was having the time of their lives and enjoying the company of their dearest family and friends.
