Fall Engagement Photos in Colonial Williamsburg

Roxanne and Nate were one of the first couples to find me when I started advertising through online wedding directories. When we met for coffee, they gushed about their cats and how excited they were for their wedding at the Lesner Inn next spring. "Clean and classic and simple" were the words Roxanne used to describe the vibe of her ideal wedding photos. When I heard her wedding vision, I knew it would be easily accomplished as every detail of their wedding fits that clean, classic, and simply beautiful aesthetic.

We originally planned to do their engagement session around the Mariner's Museum, but Roxanne reached out shortly before their session and asked to move their engagement photos to Williamsburg because they love the beauty of the whole area. Naturally I agreed, especially given my own love for the area and mild obsession with taking photos at Crim Dell Bridge!

Despite a busy week and having a wedding the same day as Roxanne and Nate's engagement session, Noelle at Blush757 was still able to fit in Roxanne's wedding makeup trial for her engagement photos and, as always, the makeup artistry was on point!

Fall Engagement Photos at Crim Dell Bridge in Williamsburg

I mentioned this in last week's blog post but it is definitely worth repeating. Crim Dell Bridge is one of my favorite photo spots in Hampton Roads! It looks incredible in every season, but there is something about the fall colors that makes it even more magical. As we walked toward the bridge, we noticed a couple standing there and someone else near the end of the bridge. I assumed they were taking photos and was about to pose Roxanne and Nate somewhere else when I noticed one of the people get down on one knee! When I realized the 3rd person had disappeared and no one was photographing the proposal, I immediately started snapping photos. When the proposal was over, I ran around the pond to congratulate them and get their contact info so I could share the photos with them. It was such a wonderful experience to witness and capture! Congratulations to Josh and Cheyenne and shout out to Roxanne and Nate for being just as excited as I was for that moment.

We wrapped up our session walking gingerly around Colonial Williamsburg as the uneven bricks posed a very real threat of injury to Roxanne and her gorgeous heels. We spent some time in front of the Governor's Palace, a lovely church, and a quaint English garden filled with hedges and cascading vines before we lost all of our light and had to head home, although I could've stuck around for hours photographing this gorgeous groom- and bride-to-be! Congratulations on your engagement, Roxanne and Nate! I cannot wait for your wedding this spring!
