A Catholic wedding with an outdoor adventure
Chloe and Douglas said “I love you” for the first time while on a picnic and had a lot of special memories while picnicking together, so it felt right when they told me they wanted their first date as husband and wife to be a private picnic! When we had our initial consultation, Chloe and Douglas had become frustrated with vendor meetings because people kept telling them there was no good way to make their timeline work. Their Catholic wedding mass was scheduled for 2:00pm and their reception space was available to them at 5:30pm, leaving them a 2 hour gap between the end of mass and the start of the reception.
I hated that they had been so discouraged! So I immediately started suggesting alternatives for filling their time. One of the things I suggested was first date picnic as husband and wife, designed by one of our amazing vendor friends, Posh Picnixs! When Chloe and Douglas followed up the next day and told me that they were going to go that direction, I was absolutely ecstatic for them because it felt like they were able to really bring an important aspect of their relationship into their wedding day.
Chloe + Douglas said "I do" at a beautiful catholic church
After a quick first look in the backyard of the bride's childhood home, They were married in front of their family and friends in April at the Church of the Holy Family. For Chloe and Douglas, photographs of the ceremony were a top priority for their wedding day because of Chloe's deep appreciation for her faith, the sanctity and beauty of a Catholic wedding mass, and the fact that the church was newly renovated and absolutely gorgeous!
Following the ceremony, their loved ones wished the newlyweds well with a bubble send-off outside the church before we headed off to a local state park for husband and wife portraits and their picnic!
Chloe + Douglas celebrated their marriage with an outdoor adventure and a picnic
Chloe and Douglas love to be outdoors, so we used some of the time in their day to head to an incredible outdoor location for husband and wife photos - First Landing State Park. As we were taking photos around the park, Belinda from Posh Picnixs was setting up a private picnic for them nearby. When we finished taking photos, the newlyweds toasted their love at a beautifully designed picnic complete with champagne, charcuterie, florals, and more. I left them to enjoy some quiet moments together while I joined their guests for cocktail hour on the deck over the water at The Lesner Inn.
